Google Voice Now Sends Telemarketers Directly To Spam
Google Voice just added an awesome new feature, spam filtering. You’ve always been able to mark a phone number as spam in Google voice, but now Google can determine which calls are spam before they ever get through to you. Take that telemarketers!
To activate the new feature, check the “Global Spam Filtering” under the “Calls” tab in your Google Voice settings. Google will intercept any calls that they deem to be spam and file them in your spam folder. You can mark a call as “not spam” if Google screws up.
From the Google Voice Blog:
Thanks to the help of the thousands of Google Voice users who mark calls as spam everyday—and our own spam identification tools—it is now possible to automatically redirect calls, texts, and voicemails from any of the numbers in our database directly into your spam folder.
If you don’t have a Google Voice account, stop what you’re doing and sign up now! You’ll never have to worry about a telemarketer again…
