Your Cell Phone Could Soon Be Powered By Your Voice

We all know that talking on a cell phone drains it’s battery. What if talking on your cell phone actually charged it?  I know, it sounds too good to be true, but your next phone charger could be your own voice.

Korean researcher, Dr. Sang-Woo Kim has built an electrical generator that is powered by the pressure of a soundwave.  So far, he has been able to generate 50 millivolts of electricity from a 100 decibel sound source. If further modifications are successful, Kim could produce the power needed to charge a cell phone from a lower-level sound source.

Kim says this technology can also be used to charge other low powered electrical devices.  Think of the possibilities, your remote control could be charged from the sound of your TV, your fire alarm would always be charged from the ambiance in your home etc…  Pretty groundbreaking stuff!  Click here to read more details.
