WWDC 2011 Announced, WIll We See The iPhone 5?
Today, Apple announced that this years World Wide Developers Conference will take place June 6th-10th at the Moscone West Convention Center in San Francisco.
Tickets for the event went on sale for the low price of $1599. Want to get one? Too bad, it sold out in less than 12 hours!
This year’s WWDC will spotlight Apple’s iOS and Mac OSX software. For the Past few years, WWDC has been used to announce new iPhone hardware.
“At this year’s conference we are going to unveil the future of iOS and Mac OS,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “If you are an iOS or Mac OS X software developer, this is the event that you do not want to miss.”.
Does this mean that we will not see the iPhone 5 at WWDC 2011? Many rumors around the web (All Things Digital, Engadget, Macotakara) are leaning towards a Q1 2012 (October 2011) launch of the new handset.
Just a hunch, I think Apple is holding out for better 4G coverage across Verizon and AT&T. I mean the iPhone 5 has gotta have 4G, right? Or on the other hand, maybe Apple will shock us all and release the iPhone 5 prior to WWDC.
