Tetris Goes Off The Grid, Into The Living Room

Tetris, the game we all know and love will soon be going offline.  A Tetris branded board game, Tetris Link was recently announced at the 2011 Toy Fair.  At last, you’ll be able to enjoy Tetris with the whole family, no gizmos needed.

Imagine Tetris meets Connect Four. Players will compete for points by linking Tetris shaped “Tetriminos” inside an upright playing board.  They will also lose points for leaving empty spaces on the game board.

Each player is assigned a different colored set of Tetriminos. They can only earn points by linking to their own Tetriminos. Up to four people can play the game at once.

Tetris Link is set to go on sale to the mass market this June with an MSRP of $19.99.  See below for a brief demonstration.
