Apple Is Developing a TV

Apple Appears To Be Developing a TV

The first Apple TV was a flop. The second Apple TV? Flop #2.  The new Apple TV…. meh.  The fact is Apple will never revolutionize the television viewing experience with a set top box.  Cable providers already offer subsidized set top boxes that deliver programming content.  People don’t want multiple set top boxes, they want a seamless, intuitive, all in one device.

Such a device may soon be on its way.  Apple appears to be developing a standalone TV. Evidence of an Apple branded TV can be found in a recent job posting for an AC/DC Power Specialist Engineer:

“The position primarily involves high-density offline power supply’s development for Apple’s next generation Macintosh platforms spanning from notebook computers, desktop computers, servers, standalone displays and TV.”

Hmmm…I wonder if an AC/DC power specialist is also required to wear velvet shorts and play a Gibson SG…

it is interesting to note that Apple is working on a $7.8 billion dollar contract with Samsung.  Apple is hoping to secure large quantities of Samsung components, including LCD panels.  Stay tuned folks, Apple may soon take over your living room.
