MICROSOFT WARNS OF “A NEW TYPE OF ATTACK”

Funnycat

Reuters: Microsoft issued a special alert today stating that Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 are subject to a “new type of attack from hackers”.  A newly found vulnerability, if exploited could allow a hacker to take complete control of someones computer.

The problem is not apparent in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.

The vulnerability is attributed to the a way in which Windows renders graphics.  Microsoft has stated that they have yet to find a way to fix the issue.  Hopefully they will now since they just told the whole world where the exploit is….

Well Windows users, you know the drill, back up your files, break out the ol restore discs and stock up on coffee, I’m sure you’re used to it by now.

aww…I thought the new kind of attack was the cat attacking. One of my cats used to go into instant attack mode on every computer in the house. Wonder if Microsoft will create a fix for the damage caused by cats sending out information while attacking mouses and pressing on keys.
Still glad to hear that 7 is safe – this time.
